Hi, my name is Bonnie Tamres-Moore and I live in Austin, TX.  I became an activist opposing torture in 2005 after reading "Torture and Truth" by Mark Danner.  Sitting at my computer, my face a frozen rictus of horror, didn't seem to be actually changing anything, so I decided I better get up out of the chair.  My activism could not be more grassroots - it started with me, a book and a desk.  I am living proof that anyone can do this!

I am a founding member of the National Religious Campaign Against Torture and have worked with them since its inception.  I've been speaking around the country for the past three years and everywhere I go people ask me "what can I do?"  I decided to start "Torture is Wrong" to provide an answer and gather a community.  What are we waiting for?
